Summary
Assist Utilities Supervisor in operating, maintain, and managing safe drinking water and wastewater systems by performing the following duties
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Assist with operating electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of raw water into treatment plant.
- Assist with repairs and lubricating machines and equipment.
- Assist with chlorine residual monitoring
- Read and record numbers for water billing/record keeping
- Read and record numbers for the use in basic maintenance of pumps and other water related issues
- Assist with pipe repair or replacement
- Assist in valve exercise and water system flushing
- Grounds maintenance using power tools, such as weed eaters and lawnmowers
Supervisory Requirements
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications

- Must be willing to obtain proper certifications to be compliant with the position.
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must be willing to follow proper processes & procedures
Experience and Eduction
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 1-3 years’ experience in water & wastewater preferred.
Skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such wastewater, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
