Summary

The Barista is expected to work at the Tribal Coffee & Gift Shop serving the community and interacting with the public in a professional manner.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist Gift Shop patrons
  • Make and serve quality beverages such as coffee, tea and specialty beverages
  • Clean and sanitize work areas
  • Receive and process customer payments
  • Uphold high standards of customer service and ensure guest satisfaction
  • Keeping all supplies stocked
  • Keeping track of inventory and tracking order supply list
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues and scheduling repairs
  • Reporting maintenance needs

Qualifications

Experience and Eduction

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 6 months-1 year experience working in a coffee shop required.

Skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and must remain insurable under the Tribe’s policy or obtain within 90 days of hire. Must have a Washington State Food Handler Card
